It’s been 2 days since I got back, but I still haven’t gotten back to earth after WordCamp Asia. Here are some random notes, so you understand why…

What a lovely gathering of the warmest, smartest, friendliest, most helpful people in the WordPress community! I have been to quite a few WordCamps but this was hands down the best one ever.

This was the first time I felt I truly ‘connected’ with some of the attendees (you know who you are), not ‘networked’, but actually connected. If you don’t know the difference, I really can’t explain it to you.

Had some of the best conversations ever – not life-changing, not path-breaking, but regular, everyday life conversations that make you realise that people are the same all over the world. They want a good, decent life for themselves & their family, and they want to help change the world, the best they can.

The smiles all around, oh the smiles! Smiles that were not pasted, smiles that reached the eyes. How can those not make you smile in return?

Learnt so much, from the speakers during their sessions and offline. Got so much useful, well-meaning advice from so many successful people out there.

And the organizers – how did they manage to be so so so patient and kind – even when they were obviously tired and super-busy, handling such a massive event with mind-boggling logistics.

Last but not the least, the Thank you note signed by the organizers was simply the best thing ever. I can’t imagine any other WordCamp souvenir that can top that.

I have been away from WordPress for the past couple of years due to my personal commitments and this was my comeback WordCamp.

And God knows, I couldn’t have chosen a better one as a comeback.

Until we meet again! Soon!
